The Creator (list)

Below is a list of Bible verses that states who the Creator of the heavens and earth is (some verses are shortened, containing only what is needed). The list shows clearly that God “Jehovah” is the Creator of all things. The New Testament often refers back to Exodus 20:11: the 4th Commandment, which shows Jehovah's ownership of all things and the authority that God possess by His sovereign ownership. I often hear from the pulpit and see in writings that Jesus Christ is the hands-on Creator of the heavens and the earth, but that is not according to God's word. In the original language, God’s name, Jehovah is used so that no mistake can be made, according to the inspirer to the Bible writers, who is Jesus, the Son of God, the "Word of God", and He was direct and clear as to who the Creator is, and Jesus stated no credit to Himself. Jehovah is also the Creator and the Father of the human race, “And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living thing.” (Genesis 2:7). Unfortunately, the name of God, "Jehovah" is not used in most Christian Bibles, instead, it has been replaced with a title “Lord” causing confusion since Jesus is also given this same title, "Lord" in the New Testament Greek. Throughout the Old Testament, Jehovah is "Lord" of all, "And the Lord Jehovah of host is He who touches the earth so it melt; and all dwelling in it shall morn. And all of it will rise up like the Nile of Egypt. It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and He has founded His firmament on the earth; He who calls for the seawaters, and pours them out on the face of the earth - Jehovah is His name." (Amos 9:5,6). From the verses listed below, one can easily see and reasonably support of scripture that Jehovah is the Creator, “When He (Jehovah) gave the sea its limits…when He (Jehovah) decreed the foundations of the earth; then I (Jesus) was at His side, like "one brought up." (KJV)” (Proverbs 8:29,30). If Jesus is the Creator (contrary to His own words) there would be no need or reason for Him to inherit or be given authority over the heavens and earth by His father, so logically this authority came from the Creator, His Father Jehovah. A couple New Testament verses claim everything is done "through" Jesus, and this is understood to mean that Jesus was the literal Creator because His Father worked through Him. We need a better understanding of this verse by further investigation: The Son of God (now Jesus), begotten of the Father, Jehovah, is exactly as His Father, with the same abilities and powers by inheritance, hence the Son of God did not need His Father's powers for any works of creation, nor would the Father even consider working "through" His Son, which would be offensive to the Son of God. Can we compare this to Christ working His powers "through" us to accomplish His will? God working "through" His Son cannot be compared with Christ working through us, because we are powerless humans and we need Christ's power. It does say in Colossians 1:16, “…all things were created "through" Him and for Him (Jesus)”. The Father, Jehovah did want the heavens and the earth to go to Jesus, since Jesus would pay the price of sin for us with His own blood and because we are to be co-inheritors with Christ in God's kingdom, "And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ; if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together." (Romans 8:17). However, to maintain a consistency throughout the Bible, the Greek word for "through" chosen by the translators, needs to be investigated, which will be addressed after the provided Creator verses below.

I also searched “Jesus”, "Christ" and "Son of God" along with “creator” and found no matches using the KJV Bible. I did other similar word searches and found nowhere in the Bible that Jesus is/was the Creator, Jesus was with His Father during the creative process, which is also addressed after the list, “And God said, Let Us make man in Our image” (Gen 2:26). When the name of God is used (as it was inspired by Jesus to all His writers), there is no doubt that Jehovah, being the one and only God is the declared and stated Creator, according to God’s only Book, revealed in the original text.

    (again Ex 20:11)

I would like to address some New Testament verses that should seem questionable or contrary to all the Old and some New Testament verses, but first I need to explain that I look for and believe that there is, and must be a consistency in God's word, so I take what is the majority of God's words, then, what does not seem to be consistent, I then look deeper into those verses that seem to lean another direction. John 1:3 is a most important verse, "All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being." The Strong's number for through is #1722 with a large host of English meanings: the list contains "through" "in" and "by" but also "for sake of" and "with". Throughout the Old Testament Jehovah God is stated as the one and only Creator, so in order to be consistent, I choose "with" because it is consistent, plus, three words after #1722 is "without" which is more consistent with rest of the Bible, also, remembering that Jehovah later gives everything to His Son, which shows Jehovah's ownership of all His creations, as it is stated in the last part of the fourth Commandment. Colossians 1:16 is another of those verses, "for all things were created in (KJV uses "by") Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or rulers, or authorities, all things have been created through (KJV uses "by") Him and for Him." (Colossian 1:16). What doesn't feel correct with this verse is that Jesus did everything for Himself, which is inconsistent with His character and His teachings, "And whoever will exalt himself shall be humbled. And whoever will humble himself shall be exalted." (Matthew 23:12). Again, to be consistent with the rest of the Bible, I could also chose "for sake of" from the list for #1722 instead of "in". For Strong's #1223 "through" which is, again with a host of English meaning, and "through" is in the list, but also: because of, for sake, by reason of, and here I choose "because of" since His Father wanted all things to go to His only-begotten Son. Unfortunately, the translators have a power to direct our thoughts by the words they choose, and there are many translators and many translated Bible and many languages that need translation from God's original words. If we look at several versions we can see the various choices the translators made. Not all display a consistency in meaning with the rest God's word. It also seem as though most translator follow the lead the ones before them and conform to the majority or those that hired them.

Another verse is Hebrews 1:2 "in these last days He spoke to us in (KJV uses "by") the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through (KJV uses "by") whom He indeed made the ages;" In this verse "in" again is used for #1722, but to be consistent, since Christ is our Mediator, I choose "by" or "through" from the list in #1722. Strong's #1223 through is the other word in question, "in regards to channeling", but to be consistent, again a better choice would be "with" or "for sake" because in Proverbs 8:22-31, God's Son says, He was by His Father's side at the creation process, as being in training, "then I was at His side like (as one brought up KJV)..." (Proverbs 8:30). Strong's  #525, the Interlinear Bible translators used master workman (which is not listed for #525). The Hebrew word "amown" list: in the sense of training; skilled, e.i. an architect (like 542): one brought up. Both, the KJV and the I-Bible's Literal Translation failed to include the "in training" part of the meaning. In my understanding, "with" works best, "through" fails to represent the Father's work as Christ clearly indicates in His inspiration to the writer, even if you read the KJV, which gives credit for creation to the Father. Again I need to point out that the Son of God has the same abilities as the Father, therefore there would be no need or no reason for the Father Jehovah to work "through" His Son, He would need only to instruct His only-begotten Son as to what He wanted done, but it wasn't stated that way.

Because of the love of the Father for His only-begotten Son, He wants to give all to His Son, the earth, the heavens and foremost, us, as an inheritance. This is also a designed human tradition, established by Jehovah, given to us as a natural desire. To balance this relationship between the Father and Son, Jesus gives all credit to His Father, God, Jehovah, "All things were delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father; and who the Father is except the Son..." (Luke 10:22) "Jesus answered them and said, My teaching is not Mine, but the One who sent Me." (John 7:16) and "...I am going to the Father, for My Father is greater then I." (John 14:28), "...but the Father who abides in Me, He does the works." (John 14:10). To look at this from another direction, it would be out of character for Christ to make all things for Himself, but perfectly in character for the Father, as the Creator to give His creations to His Son. Another important factor to consider is that Greek was not always the original language that the New Testament writers spoke or wrote, being all Jews, speaking to Jews, except for Paul, who was sent to the Nations. This point is being investigated further, but it does imply that much of the Greek is already a translation. The truth in God's word is what we are to seek; pleasing verses should only be cherished when they are the truth.
